Energy Vision:
Legacy platform, modernized without losing a record.
A B2B energy-management platform migrated from a legacy Flask + SQLite stack to Firebase, with a new Next.js dashboard — preserving every user and company along the way.

→ 01 / THE CHALLENGE
AN AGING STACK, AND NO ROOM FOR DATA LOSS.
Energy Vision is a B2B energy-management platform serving companies and their energy managers. It ran on an aging stack — Flask and a single-file SQLite database — that was difficult to scale, secure, and extend.
Modernizing it meant a high-stakes migration: real production data — roughly thirty-seven users across two hundred twenty-five companies, with their records and files — had to move to a new architecture with zero loss and no broken relationships, and authentication had to be overhauled without disrupting existing logins.
→ 02 / OUR APPROACH
MODERNIZE, DON’T REWRITE-AND-PRAY.
Tech House treated this as a careful modernization. We mapped the entire legacy schema to a new cloud data model, built and documented a repeatable migration pipeline, moved users to managed authentication, and rebuilt the front end as a modern role-based dashboard — preserving every record along the way.
→ 03 / WHAT WE BUILT
A DOCUMENTED MIGRATION AND A NEW DASHBOARD.
A five-stage, repeatable migration pipeline — export SQLite to JSON, transform to a document model, import into Firestore, migrate users to Firebase Authentication with identities and roles intact, and move files to Firebase Storage — with a complete collection-mapping plan behind it.
A modern cloud backend on Firebase: Firestore for scalable document data, role-based Firebase Auth, and Firebase Storage. And a rebuilt front end on Next.js, React, and TypeScript with role-aware areas for administrators and clients.
→ 04 / MIGRATION
NOTHING LEFT BEHIND.
→ USERS
37
Migrated to Firebase Auth with roles intact.
→ COMPANIES
225
Moved to Firestore with relationships preserved.
→ DATA RETAINED
100%
Zero loss across the migration.
→ 05 / RESULTS
MEASURED IN PRODUCTION.
The new dashboard is in production on a scalable backend. Performance, hosting cost, and adoption of the new interface will be reported here as they are measured.
